How to troubleshooting two common faults in sightseeing elevators

2025-12-22

Fault 1: No Movement (Up or Down) with Normal Power

Main Causes:

1.  Blown fuses in the main or control circuit.

2.  Faulty voltage relay or poor contact in safety switch circuits.

3.  Loose or incorrect wiring from the control cabinet to the motor.

4.  An activated safety protection switch that has not reset.

Troubleshooting Method:

1.  Inspect all fuse melts for breaks and ensure they are installed correctly and clamped securely.

2.  Check the voltage relay for damage, verify if its coil is energized, and ensure it operates normally.

3.  Examine all wiring connections at the control cabinet terminals and the motor junction box for tightness and correct placement.

4.  Investigate all protection switches (current, overload, field weakening, voltage, safety circuits) for abnormal states and reset them as needed.

Fault 2: Descends Normally, But No Express Up Travel

Main Causes:

1.  Faulty or miswired upper limit switches (first and second limit).

2.  Malfunctioning or failed upward control contactor/relay.

3.  Loose, disconnected, or broken wiring in the upward control circuit.

Troubleshooting Method:

1.  Check the upper limit switches for correct wiring, poor contact, or physical damage.

2.  Inspect the upward direction contactor and relay to see if they are energizing and operating correctly.

3.  Trace the upward control circuit wiring for any loose, disconnected, or broken connections.
